We are seeking a leader with exceptional leadership capabilities to join us as the General Manager, to lead our well established, fully accredited 80 bed home in Healesville, Victoria. The home is supported by an experienced Care Manager, and well-resourced team. Your responsibilities will include attracting and cultivating a highly skilled workforce, fostering positive engagement among our care home team members, and steering the operational objectives and targets aligned with Aurrum Aged Care’s strategic plan.

The role will report to the Regional Manager - VIC, and will be responsible for:

  • Ensure the smooth day-to-day functioning of the home, overseeing the delivery of quality care services to residents, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Ensure sustainable growth of the home through AN-ACC funding, care planning, and community engagement.
  • Continual audit and review of all care home activities to ensure effective risk management and compliance standards are met.
  • Active and timely management of resident and family complaints and incidents.
  • Participate in the reaccreditation and compliance of the home.
  • Management of finances and budgets (wage and non-wage expense). 
  • Optimising the home’s roster, which maintains the retention of staff and employee engagement.

Successful candidate will have:

  • Proven leadership experience in the service industry, retail, home care and aged care.  Aged Care is desirable, but not essential.
  • Roster Management:  Extensive experience managing dynamic rosters, and large front-line workforce. Maintaining staff levels and schedules to balance the needs of the home.
  • Leadership: the ability to inspire, motivate, and lead the Care Home team (consists of Registered Nurses, Carers, Catering and Laundry staff) effectively by setting clear expectations, providing direction, and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Financial Acumen: Proficiency in managing budgets, financial reporting, and resource allocation.
  • Operational Excellence:  Knowledge of day-to-day operations, with the ability to streamline processes for efficiency across the Care Home.
  • Relationship Skills: Expertise in managing relationships with residents and their families, addressing concerns, and ensuring a high level of satisfaction.
